One-on-One Coaching

Private coaching for scholars who need targeted help — a weak event, a Global Round push, audition prep, or a Tournament of Champions run. Sessions are scheduled on demand around your timezone, with a single coach assigned to maintain continuity across the engagement.

We cover every WSC event: Team Debate (3-on-3 motion drills, theme integration on the 2026 "Are We There Yet?" syllabus, POI workshops), Collaborative Writing (timed prompts with line-by-line feedback against the rubric), Scholar's Challenge (question-pattern training and 6-subject coverage), and Scholar's Bowl (multimedia question drills with clicker simulation). We also coach the meta-skills: time management on the tournament floor, team dynamics, and the mindset gap between Regional placement and Global Round medaling.

Pay as you go at $100/hr, or prepay in 10-hour or 20-hour packs to lock in a lower rate. First session is free.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is one-on-one better than the group bootcamps?
When you have a specific gap (debate POIs, Challenge speed on Science & Tech, etc.), a scheduling problem the group cohorts can't fit, or a personalized prep need for a specific Global Round. Group cohorts win on cost and peer practice; 1:1 wins on targeting and pace.
Can my child do 1:1 alongside a bootcamp?
Yes — this is common. The Global Round Bootcamp builds the foundation; 1:1 sessions add focused work on a particular event or motion type before a tournament.
How are coaches assigned?
We assign one coach who stays with your scholar across the engagement so progress isn't restarted each session. Coach background is matched to the focus — debate-heavy scholars get a debate-specialist coach, writing-heavy scholars get a writing specialist, etc.
What does a free trial session look like?
A full coaching session. The coach uses it to diagnose strengths, gaps, and what to work on first. No homework, no commitment — you decide afterward whether to continue.
How fast can we see results?
Audition or single-event prep usually shows results inside 3–5 hours of coaching. A Global Round push typically wants 10–20 hours across the months leading up to the tournament.
